Our beloved First Lady embodies grace, warmth, and a heart for the community. Alongside Bishop Robinson, she plays a pivotal role in creating an atmosphere of love and welcome at Hope Nation.
Her dedication to fostering connections and supporting the church family is truly inspiring.
CHURCH HISTORY
The vision to start The dEstiny Family Church of St. Louis began while
Pastor Michael Robinson was a student at World Harvest Bible College
in Columbus, OH. Upon his return home he shared his vision with his
leaders and they began to cultivate the gift and the vision of Pastor Mike
to establish a church.
After extensive training and development both Bishop Wyatt I Greenlee Jr. and Pastor Michael L. Robinson agreed that it was time to give birthto dEstiny Family Church.
On August 25, 2009, dEstiny Family Church was officially incorporated with the State of Missouri. We began having Bible Study with a handful
of family and friends in September 2009 at Bethel AME Church 1537 Irving Ave. in Wellston, Mo. On Febuary 20 th 2010 Bishop Wyatt I Greenlee Jr. officially installed Pastor Michael Robinson as the Pastor dEstiny Family Church. God blessed us and we began to have Sunday Celebration services on March 21, 2010. On the day before the first Sunday service was scheduled, the church where it would take place decided that they would not allow us to meet there. Disappointed but determined to fulfill the call of God, Pastor Mike and Pastor Joshua Eggerson found a location. Pastor Floyd Williams of End Time Christian Assembly 4723 Martin Luther King Dr. allowed us to host our service there. The next week our good friend in the ministry Pastor DeVone Cruesoe gave us a key and allowed us to worship at his church building on a weekly basis.
God continued to bless the ministry and refine the vision. Another one of our friends in the ministry, Bishop Zachariah T. Davis opened his
doors to us in January 2011 @ Friendly Missionary Baptist Church 5164 Lexington Ave. We worshiped there while desiring to be closer to our
area of assignment for that season,” Wellston”. During our time there, one of our greatest evangelism efforts was birthed. Soul Food Sunday!
As a result of this effort over 100+ people have come to Christ.
In November of 2011 we began to host a Gospel Sing-A-Long for the seniors that resided at Alpha Terrace Apartments. The residents and staff began to notice a difference that our presence was making in the building. Several of the residents began to ask if we could come more than once a month. That request was honored when Elder Janice McCoy & the Board allowed us to begin to have Sunday worship at 6105 Etzel Ave. in February 2012. We began to aggressively reach out and serve the surrounding community through various outreach programs. Our Soul Food Sundays grew to 250 people in attendance as we shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them before an amazing meal.
During this time we connected with the Christian and Missionary Alliance and they began to financially support the work that we were doing as a Urban Church Plant.
Desiring to fulfill the vision of the ministry, we began to trust God for a facility that would give us the space to do what we were called to do. In November 2014 we submitted to 3 weeks of fasting and praying. Trusting that by the end of “The Year of Greater” he would provide us with a building. God did it, On December 1st , 2014 we signed the lease to 4105 Ashland Ave.
While worshiping at the Ashland location we continued our Partnership with Bridge of Hope Ministries. The connection was divine. Pastor Mike and Pastor Steve Boda were 2 peas in a pod. They share some of the same desires for community ministry and outreach.
After another devastating situation God showed us once again that he had everything under control. Bridge of Hope discontinued having Sunday services and dEstiny was invited to come and oversee the spiritual components of the facility. On the first Sunday in October 2015, We began having all services at 4001 Cottage Ave. This has allowed us to do ministry on another level and accomplish the vision of our church. We forged forward and continued to do what we were called to do, SERVE!
As an additional piece to the ministry that was being carried out by Bridge of Hope, dEstiny began serving 60-70 delicious hot lunches to the community members that came to the building daily. DFC has always had a strong desire to do community service and evangelism. We started Prayer on The Bridge, a city-wide response to the senseless violence that occurs in our city in 2016. We have also produced two amazing theatrical productions, He Got Up & Change. Both of these productions caused numerous individuals to come to Christ.
In September 2019 there was a major development, dEstiny birthed the non-profit organization City Hope St. Louis It would continue the work that DFC began in 2017 by providing shelter to our unhoused community members.
As 2020 rolled in God prepared the house by giving us a significant Word. It was “The Year That Everything Changes”. With the entrance of COVI-19 we certainly experienced numerous changes. Some good and some bad However, through it all God has sustained us.
Things changed significantly for our leader. On Jan. 2nd 2021 he married Jennifer A Turner. Our church was excited and we are happy to receive
our 1st Lady.
dEstiny Family Church is a proud member of the Church of God In Christ under the Leadership of Bishop J. Drew Sheard. Bishop Michael Robinson is a founding father of the Missouri Midwest Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction in which he is an active member under the leadership of Bishop Elijah H. Hankerson III and serves has his newly appointed Chief of Staff.
God continues to blow our minds. While our Bishop was in a 12 hr Prayer session with Pastor John F. Hannah this happened……………God impressed upon the heart of Bishop Mike to change our name from dEstiny family Church to Hope Nation International Church.
Since the name change God has continued to be faithful to our ministry. He has added souls to the Kingdom and is increasing our membership with faithful servants. In March of 2021 during our anniversary service, Bishop Robinson declared that this would be the last year we rented a building for our service.
On January 2, 2022 held our 1 st service at OUR new building at 4001 Maffitt Ave. !!
God continues to blow our mind and we are excited to continue to fulfill the assignment God has given us.
